ST Catherine's Catholic College at Singleton has rocked the Speckle Park steer showcase this morning with their heavyweight steer Rockabilly.

Weighing about 550 kilograms and led and prepared for show by Emma-Leigh Green, the top-class steer impressed judges Tim and Erica Bayliss with his high quality carcase.
"This steer is a tremendous steer in the eye muscle. He has good butt shape and you have to admire the overall carcase of this animal," Mr Bayliss said.
"He has a huge eye muscle area and a wide base with enough power to place him over the other steers.
"We were looking for that little bit extra shape and carcase, and this steer is spot on."
By a Speckle Park bull from a Limousin female, the champion steer was bred by long-time supporter of the school Alan Badoir from Glendonbrook near Singleton, and is destined for Wingham Beef Week in May.
Sponsored by the Dickens family from JAD Speckle Park stud, Yeoval, the grand champion steer receives $500 cash plus prizes.
Rockabilly got around stiff competition from Ersyldene Chunky, a 508 kilogram steer shown by Angela McGrath, that was said to be an earlier maturing steer with a huge hip to pin.
"He is good to touch with a huge eye muscle area, and a carcase on wheels," Mr Bayliss said.
"He is a purposely designed carcase animal."
In third place was Ersyldene Cruise that tipped the scales at 408 kilograms, a steer indicating a fair bit of cover but gave up a bit of natural butt shape compared to the two above him.
