CUMNOCK’S Long White Lunch on Saturday was a roaring success as 500 people adorned in white sat down at the venue their money will go towards improving.

Fine food, wine, beer and cider from the local area was on show, as was art for auction and great prizes pledged by sponsors.
All funds raised at The Long White Lunch will be put towards a new entertainment area adjoining the showgrounds new pavillion.
The area will include an updated bar area, with an outdoor barbecue and firepit, new shower and toilet facilities and space for dedicated event seating.
The Cumnock Showgrounds is becoming increasingly popular, with the annual agricultural show, camp drafts, pony club events, youth camps and the community Christmas tree gracing the place, and it’s being hired out for private functions.
Initially canapes were carried on trays by the staff of Relish, including sticky fig, blue cheese and pear tartlets, a smoked trout tartlet with beetroot relish and horseradish cream, spinach and porcini aracini with aioli and caramelised onion and pumpkin and thyme pizzas topped with marinated feta cheese.
That was followed by a shared entree of stuffed chorizo and herb mushrooms, summer eggplant rolls with roasted vegetables, rocket and goats cheese, barbecued beef slices with chumchuri sauce and tomato, labna, green olive and basil salad.
The alternate drop main consisted of rosemary and prosciutto chicken bundles with chargrilled asparagus served with crispy potatoes and balsamic drizzle, harissa spiced rack of lamb with roasted pumpkin and pistachio dukkah, alongside rocket and parmesan salads.
For dessert there was vanilla panna cotta with fresh berries, chocolate mousse and lemon curd cheesecake.
